To continue to believe in the goodness of God regardless of our circumstances we need to do two things: (1) refuse the devil’s temptation to blame God and (2) build our faith in His goodness. One of the things I am doing to build my faith is to look for the good things that God does for me every day. Years ago David and Karen Mains of the Chapel of the Air radio show challenged their listeners to go on a daily God Hunt. The idea was to look for the Lord in our everyday lives as so often we miss the good things that God does for us. As we do this we begin block by block, God sighting by God sighting, to build up our faith that the Lord loves us and wants to bless us with good things. As our faith is built brick by brick we begin to look for God’s hand in all our circumstances whether they are good or bad. When we have an attitude that God is good to us, we have hope in the bad times that somehow He will show up to make our circumstance better.
